Air China Cargo Adds More Airbus A350F Freighters to Fleet
Airbus A350F Order Supports Air China Cargo Expansion Plans
Air China Cargo has signed an agreement with Airbus for four additional A350F freighters, increasing its total order for the aircraft type to 10. The airline had previously ordered six A350F freighters in November 2025.
The additional aircraft are expected to support Air China Cargo’s fleet expansion and long-haul cargo operations as demand continues across international freight markets.
Wang Hongyan, Vice President of Air China Cargo, said the latest order forms part of the company’s strategy to optimise fleet structure and increase transport capacity to support long-term operational development.
Air China Cargo began introducing Airbus freighters into its operations at the end of 2023 and currently operates eight Airbus A330-200P2F aircraft. The A350F freighters will complement the airline’s existing fleet and support both long-haul and medium-to-long-haul cargo routes.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President Sales of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, said the additional order reflects Air China Cargo’s continued confidence in the A350F programme.
The Airbus A350F has been designed for long-range cargo operations with a range of up to 8,700 kilometres and a payload capacity of up to 111 tonnes. Airbus said the aircraft incorporates advanced materials and is designed to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions compared to earlier-generation freighters.
The aircraft is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines and is also designed to operate with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus aims for the aircraft to be capable of operating with up to 100 per cent SAF by 2030.
As of April 2026, Airbus had recorded 101 A350F orders from 14 customers worldwide.
