Accor Reaches 800 Hotels in Greater China

Sofitel Changzhou Hi-Tech District Marks Latest Opening
Accor has announced the opening of its 800th hotel in Greater China, Sofitel Changzhou Hi-Tech District.
Located in Changzhou’s High-Speed Rail New Town, the hotel overlooks Xinlong Lake and is positioned within a mixed-use development that includes business, commercial and residential spaces. It is within walking distance of Changzhou North Station and around a 30-minute drive from Benniu International Airport.
The hotel has been developed in partnership with High-speed Railway New City Company and Changzhou Hi-Tech Group Co., Ltd.

According to Kent Zhu, Chief Executive Officer, Accor Greater China, the opening reflects the group’s continued expansion in the region, particularly within the Yangtze River Delta and its connection to the Shanghai metropolitan area.
Hotel Features and Design
Sofitel Changzhou Hi-Tech District offers 293 rooms and suites that blend French and local Jiangnan influences. Interiors incorporate regional cultural elements alongside Sofitel’s established design approach.
The property includes approximately 4,000 square metres of event space, with ballrooms and meeting rooms suited for conferences and social gatherings. Additional facilities include a spa, swimming pool and fitness centre.
Dining options at the hotel include an Italian restaurant, a Chinese restaurant serving regional cuisine, an all-day dining venue and a lobby lounge.
The development also incorporates sustainability features, including a rainwater recycling system within the wider complex.
Accor’s Growth in Greater China
The opening forms part of Accor’s broader expansion in Greater China, where the group operates multiple brands across different segments. The region remains a key market for the company’s development strategy, supported by partnerships with local stakeholders.
Accor currently operates 17 brands in China and continues to expand its presence through new projects and partnerships, with a focus on both business and leisure destinations
