IndiGo Launches Lite Fare for Economy Travellers

IndiGo Lite Fare Offers More Flexible Travel Options

IndiGo has introduced IndiGo Lite, a new entry-level fare for Economy Class passengers who travel with only cabin baggage. The fare is designed to give customers more flexibility by allowing them to pay only for the services they choose.

The new fare will be available for booking exclusively through IndiGo’s official website, mobile app and contact centre from 1 July 2026, for travel starting 15 July 2026. It will be offered on domestic and international nonstop routes for one-way, return, and multi-city journeys, and will be available to both adults and children.

IndiGo Suspends Manchester Flights from August 31

Passengers booking the Lite Fare will receive an auto-assigned seat at no extra cost and a cabin baggage allowance of up to 7 kg. Additional services such as checked baggage, preferred seating, meals and Fast Forward priority services can be purchased separately up to one hour before departure through IndiGo’s website or at the airport.

Customers travelling on the Lite Fare will continue to earn and redeem IndiGo BluChip loyalty points.

Aloke Singh

Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer at IndiGo, said the new fare has been introduced for customers who travel light and prefer to pay only for the services they require. He added that the fare reflects the airline’s effort to offer more choice while responding to changing customer preferences.

With the launch of IndiGo Lite, the airline’s 6E Ways to Fly portfolio now includes Saver, Flexi Plus, IndiGo UpFront, IndiGoStretch, Stretch+, and IndiGo Lite, giving passengers more options to suit their travel needs and budget.
