Velas Resorts Becomes Regional Member of WTTC
Velas Resorts Membership Supports Collaboration in Global Tourism
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has welcomed Velas Resorts as a Regional Member, strengthening the organisation’s network of travel and hospitality businesses working to support tourism sector growth.
Based in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Velas Resorts operates a portfolio of hotels and resorts across destinations including Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Riviera Maya.
The hospitality group manages several properties under its Grand Velas, Casa Velas, and Velas Vallarta brands, as well as Mar del Cabo, its European Plan hotel offering. Over the years, the company has built a reputation for its focus on hospitality, culinary experiences, wellness programmes and guest services.

Gloria Guevara, President and Chief Executive Officer of WTTC, welcomed the addition of Velas Resorts to the organisation’s membership, noting the company’s contribution to Mexico’s hospitality sector and its commitment to service, innovation and sustainability.
She said the partnership would support WTTC’s efforts to encourage sustainable tourism growth and strengthen the role of travel and tourism in economic development and cultural exchange.

Juan Vela Ruiz, Chief Executive Officer of Velas Resorts, said joining WTTC reflects the company’s commitment to supporting responsible tourism and contributing to discussions that shape the future of the industry.
He added that the company looks forward to sharing its experience gained through more than three decades of operating in Mexico while helping to promote tourism practices that support local communities and cultural heritage.
As a Regional Member, Velas Resorts will participate in WTTC initiatives focused on collaboration, sustainability and innovation across the travel and tourism sector.
The membership also supports efforts to strengthen Mexico’s tourism industry and to encourage continued development in the hospitality sector.
