Etihad Airways Expands Kabul Flights to Twice Daily
Kabul Flights Increase as Etihad Responds to Passenger Demand
Etihad Airways will increase its Abu Dhabi–Kabul service to twice-daily flights from 15 July 2026, following sustained demand on the route since its launch earlier this year.
Kabul became part of the Etihad network in March 2026 with an initial schedule of four weekly services. Since then, the route has attracted demand from travellers flying between Afghanistan and the UAE, as well as passengers connecting through Abu Dhabi to destinations across Europe and other international markets.
The expanded schedule will provide passengers with greater flexibility when travelling for business, family visits, and leisure.
Flights on the route are operated using Airbus A320 aircraft configured with eight Business Class seats and 150 Economy Class seats.
The UAE is home to a significant Afghan community, and the increased frequency is expected to strengthen connectivity between the two countries while supporting travel, trade and business links.

Commenting on the expansion, Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said the airline had seen consistent demand on the Kabul route since its launch and was responding by increasing services to offer passengers more travel options.
He added that the move reflects Etihad’s approach to network planning, allowing the airline to adjust capacity in response to customer demand while further strengthening Abu Dhabi’s role as a regional and international transit hub.
