Families on the Fly Program Expands Across More MIA Security Checkpoints
The Families on the Fly programme has expanded at Miami International Airport, providing additional support for families travelling with young children.
The expansion was highlighted by Natalie Milian Orbis and Ralph Cutié during a media event focused on improving the airport experience for families.
The initiative is designed to make security screening more efficient while reducing stress for parents travelling with strollers and young children.
Programme Now Available at Six Security Checkpoints
As part of the expansion, Families on the Fly is now available at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 at Miami International Airport.
The programme provides dedicated assistance for families, helping them move through security screening more smoothly and efficiently.
Airport officials said the initiative also helps reduce congestion and improve passenger flow for all travellers using the airport.
Initiative Aims to Improve Family Travel Experience
The programme was developed to address challenges often faced by families travelling with infants and young children.
By providing additional support during the security screening process, Families on the Fly seeks to create a more convenient and predictable airport journey.
Commissioner Milian Orbis said the programme helps make travel less stressful for parents while also contributing to overall airport efficiency.

Expansion Arrives Ahead of Major Travel Demand
The enhanced service comes as Miami-Dade County prepares for increased international travel associated with major global events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Airport officials expect millions of visitors to travel through Miami during the tournament period, increasing the importance of efficient passenger processing and customer service initiatives.
County Leaders Support Passenger Experience Improvements
Daniella Levine Cava said the programme will provide a smoother and more convenient airport experience for families departing from Miami.
She noted that the launch is particularly timely as the region prepares to welcome visitors from around the world.
Commissioner Milian Orbis also thanked airport leadership, MIA staff and the Transportation Security Administration for their role in expanding the initiative.
Airport Continues Focus on Customer Service
The expansion of Families on the Fly reflects Miami International Airport’s broader efforts to improve passenger services and enhance the travel experience.
Airport officials said customer-focused programmes such as this help support travellers with specific needs while maintaining efficient airport operations during periods of high demand.
