Wyndham Launches Native ChatGPT App for Hotel Discovery and Booking

Wyndham Expands AI Strategy with ChatGPT Hotel App
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has launched a native ChatGPT app designed to support hotel discovery and booking through conversational AI.
The new app allows travellers to search across approximately 8,400 hotels in the company’s global portfolio using natural-language prompts in ChatGPT. Users can browse hotels through map-based navigation, amenity filters and interactive hotel cards before being redirected to WyndhamHotels.com to complete bookings.
According to the company, the launch reflects changing travel-planning habits, as more travellers use conversational AI platforms to search for accommodation and organise trips.
The company said the ChatGPT app has been built specifically for conversational search and forms part of its broader artificial intelligence and cloud-based technology strategy.

Scott Strickland, Chief Commercial Officer at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said conversational AI is changing the way travellers discover and book hotels, adding that the new integration aims to create a more connected, visual booking experience.
The launch follows the company’s earlier AI integrations, including its 2025 rollout on Anthropic’s Claude platform. The company also confirmed plans for a future integration with Google’s AI Mode.
The company said its wider technology strategy has been built around cloud-based and mobile-first systems, supported by partnerships with companies including Oracle, Amazon, Adobe and Salesforce. Since 2018, the company has invested more than $450 million into technology initiatives and completed a full migration to cloud-based systems in 2020.
The company has also expanded AI-powered tools across guest engagement, hotel operations and customer service platforms. According to Wyndham, AI systems used within its call centres have helped reduce average handling times and improve operational efficiency.
Additional AI-enabled tools are also available to franchisees through Wyndham Connect and Wyndham Connect PLUS, platforms designed to support guest communication, automate operations and improve direct booking opportunities.

Michael Mahar, Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Technology at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said the company’s focus remains on using AI tools to support hotel owners through cost efficiencies, revenue opportunities and wider digital distribution.
