World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is convening a group of international Travel & Tourism leaders in Egypt in early May for a leadership event held aboard the Crystal Serenity during its transit through the Suez Canal.

Hosted by the Egyptian Government and supported by the Antonio Lefebvre Foundation, Coral Travel Group and Abercrombie & Kent, the three-day programme brings together ministers, policymakers and industry leaders to discuss coordination between governments and the private sector.

Participants include representatives from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Latin America and Europe, reflecting a broad range of perspectives across the sector.

The programme centres on strengthening cooperation between public and private stakeholders, particularly in response to current geopolitical conditions in the Middle East. A dedicated roundtable will address policy approaches to support recovery in the region.

Sessions will cover topics including geopolitics and global travel trends, workforce and skills gaps, cross-border travel processes, tourism value, and destination management.

Manfredi Lefebvre said Egypt provides a suitable setting for the event, noting the importance of continued collaboration and investment across the sector.

Gloria Guevara said coordinated action between governments and industry remains important for supporting recovery and maintaining long-term development across Travel & Tourism.
