The union territory welcomed over 44,814 foreign tourists in the last 15 months and is planning to host even more for the rest of 2024. Even in 2021, during the COVID-19 lockdown, the city had over 5,051 foreign visitors, climbing to over 28,439 in 2022. In 2023, the figure stood at 31,498. In the first three months of 2024, there were around 13,000 foreign visitors in Chandigarh; 3,449 came in January, 5,028 in February, and 4,839 tourists visited Chandigarh in March.
