Summit Hotels & Resorts Opens Enigma Resort & Spa in Lamahatta

Summit Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Summit Enigma Resort & Spa in Lamahatta, West Bengal. Located 22 kilometres from Darjeeling town and close to attractions such as Tiger Hill and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the resort combines accessibility with a quiet mountain setting.

The property features 16 rooms, including Premium Rooms and Balcony Rooms, all offering views of the Kanchenjunga range. Facilities include the Metta Spa, steam and sauna services, and a Jacuzzi overlooking Kanchenjunga. The in-house CloudSong Restaurant serves menus built around locally sourced produce, including dishes such as Desi Kukkad Curry.

The resort also encourages cultural and nature-based experiences. Guests can explore nearby farms, engage with local communities, and visit attractions such as Lamahatta Eco Park, monasteries, and tea gardens. Wildlife, including deer, can occasionally be spotted around the property.

“Enigma is more than just a property launch; it is Summit’s boldest interpretation of mountain hospitality to date. We have created a retreat where every moment, every view, and every detail reflects the mystery and beauty of the Himalayas,” Sumit Mitruka, CEO and founder, said.

With this launch, Summit Hotels & Resorts expands its portfolio in the Darjeeling region while maintaining its emphasis on combining hospitality with local experiences.
