Sterling Holiday Resorts has announced the opening of Sterling Saryu Ayodhya, marking its second property in Ayodhya. The launch supports Sterling’s destination-led growth strategy, strengthening its presence in one of India’s key spiritual centres and expanding its portfolio across heritage and pilgrimage destinations.
Ayodhya has seen increased visitor traffic in recent years, driven by improved connectivity, upgraded infrastructure, and growing interest in faith-based travel. As pilgrimage travel evolves to include multi-generational families, senior travellers, and organised groups, demand has increased for accommodation that prioritises comfort, reliability, and ease, as well as location. Sterling Saryu Ayodhya is positioned to address this need by adding capacity and choice for travellers, particularly during peak seasons.

Named after the sacred River Saryu, the resort has been designed as a calm base for faith-focused journeys. Accommodation options range from Cocoon Rooms, designed for rest and recovery, to Junior Suites for longer stays. The design reflects the pace of pilgrimage itineraries, which often include early mornings, temple visits, and extended walking.

The property is within easy reach of Ayodhya’s temples, ghats, and transport hubs, offering balanced access and convenience. Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, The Saryu Café, serving vegetarian cuisine, as well as shared spaces and a banquet hall suitable for spiritual groups, family gatherings, and small meetings.

Commenting on the launch, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO of Sterling Holiday Resorts, said the opening reflects the company’s focus on building depth in destinations where emotional and spiritual journeys are central to travel, with an emphasis on consistent service and dependable stays.
Rishi Uppal, Director of Kalyan KK Hotels India Pvt Ltd, the property owner, noted that Ayodhya is seeing growing demand for organised hospitality and that Sterling’s experience in heritage and pilgrimage locations aligns with the project’s vision.
Well connected by road and rail, the hotel also serves as a base for extended travel across North India, with access to regional centres including Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Varanasi, enabling travellers to develop wider pilgrimage and heritage circuits with Ayodhya as a central point.
