Southern Thailand Flooding: Updated Travel Advisory from TAT
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) acknowledges that ongoing weather conditions in parts of Southern Thailand may be causing concern for travellers. While many destinations continue normal tourism activities, heavy rainfall, flash floods, and strong waves are being reported in several provinces. This has led to temporary adjustments to some transport services and safety-related closures at selected natural attractions. Airports in the region remain open, with limited delays and intermittent disruptions to local ground transport.
As part of the national response, TAT has activated the Tourism Crisis Monitoring Centre (TCMC) to coordinate with provincial authorities, consulates, and tourism partners. The centre is assisting affected travellers, verifying information, and sharing updates as conditions develop.
Travellers are advised to exercise caution in flooded areas, coastal zones with strong waves, and on restricted routes. Additional travel time may be required when heading to airports, piers, or bus terminals. Travellers are encouraged to follow local guidance and monitor official updates regularly.
