Bringing more than 20 years of culinary expertise, Chef Gao arrives with a profound command of Chinese cuisine, refined through his tenure at world-renowned kitchens, including the Michelin-starred Cai Yi Xuan at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing.

Chef Gao’s journey began with a passion for cooking that developed in his youth. His pursuit of excellence led him to culinary school in China, where he immersed himself in the techniques of Chinese cuisine. Throughout his illustrious career, he has risen to prestigious positions, shaping his culinary philosophy around the idea that “a great chef knows no favourites; instead, they must excel in preparing everything.”

Before joining Chef Gao honed his culinary skills at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing, where he gained recognition for his innovative approach to traditional Chinese cuisine. His expertise lies in blending the rich flavours of China with the finest local ingredients, crafting dishes that seamlessly marry authenticity with contemporary tastes.

“For me, sharing good food with those who matter most is the greatest form of celebration,” said Chef Gao. His return to Egypt marks a new chapter in his career, following a memorable first visit eight years ago. Now, with his children grown, Chef Gao is eager to call Cairo home and draw inspiration from the city’s vibrant culture. In his new role at 8, he plans to elevate the dining experience with refined techniques and bold flavours that reflect his deep connection to Chinese culinary traditions, while adapting to Egyptian ingredients and preferences.
