PATA Skills Programme Supports Tourism Industry Learning

The Pacific Asia Travel Association has launched the PATA Micro-credential Programme during the PATA Annual Summit 2026, introducing a new learning initiative for tourism professionals across the Asia Pacific region.

Hosted on the Pacific Asia Travel Association platform, src.pata.org, the programme offers short online courses designed to provide practical, industry-focused training. The initiative is aimed at tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, SMEs, government bodies and tourism organizations.

The courses have been developed in partnership with Pacific Asia Travel Association members EarthCheck and The Sigmund Project. Participants can complete the modules through self-paced learning and will receive digital certificates upon completion.

PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid said the programme has been created to help tourism professionals respond to changing industry demands, technological developments, and evolving business requirements through accessible, flexible learning opportunities.

The first course, Integrating ESG into Tourism SMEs by EarthCheck, focuses on environmental, social and governance practices for small tourism businesses. The programme covers practical approaches to sustainability and operational efficiency.

The second course, AI-Powered Marketing for Tourism Professionals by The Sigmund Project, explores the use of artificial intelligence in tourism marketing, including content creation, branding and campaign management.

According to Pacific Asia Travel Association, the programme is intended to support knowledge-sharing and skills development across the tourism sector while helping organisations adapt to changing industry trends.

The courses are currently available through its online learning platform.
