Shangri-La Muscat Appoints New Director of Finance

APPOINTMENT

Shangri-La Muscat has announced the appointment of Deepak Mehta as the resort’s new director of finance. Mehta joins the team from the St. Regis Maldives. Previously, he served as director of finance at Shangri-La, New Delhi. With nearly two decades of experience in financial management in the hospitality industry, he brings a wealth of expertise to the role. Mehta, a Chartered Accountant by training, has demonstrated strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and in-depth industry knowledge, leading to executive roles at some of the world’s most prestigious hotel brands, focusing on the APEC region.

“I’m thrilled to be rejoining the Shangri-La Group and, specifically, to be part of the team in Muscat, which is currently experiencing significant growth. I am eager to collaborate with the executive and finance teams to enhance the property’s systems and strategies and contribute to the development of Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah and Shangri-La Al Husn,” Mehta stated upon his appointment.

According to an official release, Mehta’s attention to detail will play a crucial role in refining the complex’s financial management strategy. The complex offers 640 rooms and suites.

Nick Flynn, the resort’s hotel manager, added: “Deepak will be a key executive member, bolstering the resort’s financial planning and analysis capabilities and ensuring adherence to all regulations. This will help drive revenue growth and achieve significant improvements in costs and efficiency, ultimately leading to enhanced financial performance that aligns with the complex’s strategic business plan.”
