Nature Trails Expands to Hampi with Sixth Resort in Karnataka
With Indian travellers increasingly opting for slower, experience-led holidays, destinations that offer a meaningful connection to nature and history are drawing attention. Reflecting this shift, Nature Trails, the experiential hospitality brand of Thomas Cook (India) Limited, has added its sixth resort to the portfolio with the launch of Nature Trails Ashoka Resort in Hampi, Karnataka.
The brand’s existing properties are located in Durshet, Sajan, and Kundalika in Maharashtra; Rock Valley in Goa; and Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. The Hampi addition strengthens its presence in culturally significant and nature-rich destinations across India.
Set amid Hampi’s distinctive boulder-strewn landscape, the resort is positioned along the edge of the region’s rocky hills, offering open views of terrain shaped over centuries and closely linked to the legacy of the Vijayanagara Empire. Designed around the idea of immersive travel, the property provides a quiet setting while remaining within reach of Hampi’s historic landmarks.

Accommodation options include Superior Rooms, Classic Rooms, eco-friendly Bamboo Cottage Rooms and a dormitory suited for group travellers. Landscaped gardens and open spaces form part of the layout, encouraging guests to spend time outdoors and engage with the surroundings. The hillside swimming pool overlooks the rocky terrain and greenery, creating a relaxed setting for guests.
Dining venues include Archana, an open-air multi-cuisine restaurant serving Indian, Chinese and Goan dishes, and Grills by the Pool, which offers barbeque selections and beverages in a casual poolside environment.

Guests can explore nearby attractions such as the UNESCO World Heritage monuments of Hampi, Anjanadri Hill, temples, forts, sacred water bodies, surrounding villages and spice plantations. The resort also facilitates nature walks and seasonal trails that highlight the local landscape and heritage.
For events and gatherings, the property features indoor meeting spaces, a hall with a poolside venue and open lawns suited for social functions and celebrations. Facilities include landscaped gardens, Wi-Fi access, parking, 24-hour front desk support, room service, and doctor-on-call assistance.
Nature Trails Ashoka Resort, Hampi, is located on Anegundi-Gangavathi Road, near Sangapur in Karnataka. It is approximately 3 km from Gangavathi, 10–11 km from Anjanadri Hill and around 22 km from Hampi. The resort can be accessed via Hubli Airport (about 170 km away) and Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (approximately 340 km).

Commenting on the launch, Mahesh Iyer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, said the addition aligns with the company’s focus on culturally rooted destinations and experience-led stays. He noted that the Hampi launch follows the recent opening in Rishikesh, with further expansions planned for the Nature Trails portfolio.
