Hilton to introduce Motto by Hilton brand to Australia with Sydney project

Hilton has announced plans to introduce its Motto by Hilton brand to Australia with the signing of Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre. The hotel is scheduled to open in late 2027 and will mark the seventh Hilton brand operating in the Australian market.

The property will be located on York Street in Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD), placing guests within reach of several major city landmarks. These include The Rocks, Darling Harbour, the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Barangaroo precinct. The hotel will also be connected to the city’s transport network through Wynyard railway station and Town Hall railway station. The project is being developed through a partnership between Hilton and Invictus Developments.

Once operational, the hotel will feature 152 rooms. The room mix will include 96 standard rooms, 14 bunk rooms, 14 flex rooms, eight accessible rooms and 20 suites. A total of 56 rooms will offer interconnecting options designed for group and family stays.

The property will also include shared spaces designed for social interaction and flexible use. The lobby will function as both a meeting point and a co-working area, while food and beverage venues, including a rooftop bar, are part of the development plans.

The Sydney project follows the recent opening of Motto by Hilton Hong Kong SoHo, which introduced the brand to the Asia Pacific region. At present, there are 10 Motto by Hilton hotels operating worldwide, with 23 additional properties in development.

Guests staying at Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre will also have access to benefits through the Hilton Honors loyalty programme.
