Marriott Bonvoy Partners with Shinsegae Duty Free in South Korea
Marriott Bonvoy has launched a partnership with Shinsegae Duty Free, a duty-free operator in South Korea. The collaboration connects hospitality and retail, offering members of both programs new ways to earn and use rewards.
Starting August 26, Marriott Bonvoy members will earn 2 points for every KRW 1,000 spent at Shinsegae Duty Free offline and online stores, after purchases are completed and picked up. Members can earn up to 1,000 points each month. The partnership also introduces tier matching: Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite members will receive Shinsegae Duty Free Black status, while Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite members will receive VIP status. Shinsegae Black and VIP members will be matched to Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status.
To mark the launch, a pop-up store will open at the Shinsegae Duty Free Myeongdong location from August 26 to September 4, 2025. The space highlights Marriott Bonvoy and its rewards program. Visitors who enrol on-site will receive a welcome gift, available in limited quantities each day. Members who link their Marriott Bonvoy and Shinsegae Duty Free accounts will also receive additional rewards.
This partnership builds on Marriott Bonvoy’s existing collaboration with Hana Bank. It extends its presence in South Korea by offering members the chance to earn and redeem points through shopping as well as travel.
