Lufthansa Introduces New Uniform for Employees

Lufthansa uniform update reflects design and functionality focus

Lufthansa has introduced a new uniform for its employees, marking a design change as the airline approaches its 100th anniversary.

The updated uniforms, created for cockpit, cabin and ground staff, were presented at a fashion show held at the Lufthansa Group’s Hangar One visitor and conference centre. The collection has been developed in collaboration with employees across departments, who contributed feedback on comfort, usability and sustainability throughout the design process.

The final designs were produced in partnership with Hugo Boss, combining tailoring expertize with operational requirements.

Design combines heritage and practical use

The new uniform range includes around 40 updated and newly designed pieces. Lufthansa’s established colour palette remains central to the collection, with dark blue and yellow continuing to define the overall look.

One of the design elements includes a cape for cabin and ground staff, referencing the airline’s history while introducing a contemporary feature to the collection.

Employees will be able to combine new and existing uniform items, allowing flexibility while supporting a more resource-conscious approach.

Collaboration and rollout plans

The co-design process forms part of an ongoing collaboration between Lufthansa and Hugo Boss, bringing together fashion design and aviation-specific requirements.
