Lufthansa Opens Booking for Allegris Business Class on Boeing 787-9
Lufthansa introduced its redesigned long-haul cabin concept, Allegris, in summer 2024. The cabin has been operating on long-haul services from Munich aboard the Airbus A350-900 for over a year and a half. Since October 2025, Allegris has also been in service from Frankfurt on the airline’s new Boeing 787-9 fleet.
Following progress in the certification process, Allegris Business Class on the Boeing 787-9 is now largely approved for passenger service, with the exception of three seats in the second row. As a result, 25 of the 28 Business Class seats are now available for booking for travel starting from 15 April.
When making a reservation, travellers can select from a range of Allegris Business Class seating options. Classic Seats can be reserved free of charge and include the standard features of the new cabin. Additional seating options are available for an extra fee, including the Business Class Suite, Extra Space Seat with increased legroom, Privacy Seat by the window, and the Extra Long Bed with a lying surface of up to 2.20 metres.
At the start of the summer flight schedule, the Boeing 787-9 equipped with Allegris will operate from Frankfurt to Austin, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Cape Town, Shanghai, Hyderabad, and Hong Kong. New York JFK and Los Angeles are scheduled to be added in June, followed by Delhi in July.

Jens Ritter, Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Airlines, said that more than one million passengers have travelled in the Allegris cabin since its introduction in 2024. He added that the opening of bookings for most Business Class seats on the Boeing 787-9 marks an important step in expanding the availability of the new cabin from Frankfurt.

Allegris has been operating on the Boeing 787-9 from Frankfurt since 9 October 2025. Eight of the new aircraft are already based in Frankfurt, with a further 21 Dreamliners on order. Lufthansa plans to operate 29 Boeing 787-9 aircraft by the end of 2027.
