KLM Begins Direct Flights Between Amsterdam and Hyderabad
KLM has introduced a new direct service between Amsterdam and Hyderabad, with the inaugural flight landing in India on September 2. Hyderabad is now the fourth city in India served by KLM, joining Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. The airline will operate three weekly flights on this route using a Boeing 777-200ER.
The inaugural flight was marked at Hyderabad Airport with a traditional Indian dance performance. A delegation led by KLM COO Maarten Stienen joined local partners and guests to acknowledge the start of this connection.
Hyderabad: Growing business hub

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, has a population of over 7 million and is experiencing steady economic growth. Known as the “Pharmaceutical Capital of India,” the city is home to more than 800 pharmaceutical companies. Additionally, it has a significant presence of American and European IT companies. Hyderabad’s airport is the fourth busiest in India and is expanding its passenger traffic and connectivity. Due to its central location in southern India and domestic flight connections through IndiGo, Hyderabad serves as an important business and logistics hub.
Maarten Stienen, COO of KLM, said: “India is an important trading partner for the Netherlands and the EU. In recent years, travel between Amsterdam and India has grown significantly. Adding Hyderabad as a new destination allows KLM to respond to this demand.”
