ITC Hotels Marks 50th Welcomhotel Signing in India
Expansion Continues with New Properties in Shirdi and Bhubaneshwar
ITC Hotels Limited (ITCHL) has announced the signing of the 50th hotel under its Welcomhotel brand in India, with the addition of new properties in Shirdi, Maharashtra, and Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.
The brand is also preparing to expand into new destinations, including Gangtok in Sikkim and Bhopal and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
ITCHL has entered into agreements with Sandy Resort Private Limited to operate a 73-room hotel in Shirdi. The partnership also includes a second property, an 84-room hotel in Bhubaneshwar, under the Welcomhotel brand.
With these additions, the Welcomhotel portfolio now includes 51 hotels, with more than 5,500 keys. This comprises 30 operational properties and 21 hotels currently in development.
Over the past year, the brand has signed hotels across multiple locations, including Ayodhya, Sarnath and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh; Bhubaneshwar in Odisha; Bodh Gaya in Bihar; Jaipur and Salasar in Rajasthan; Karai and Rajkot in Gujarat; Mysuru in Karnataka; Nellore in Andhra Pradesh; Panjagutta and Shankarpally in Telangana; Selaqui in Dehradun, Uttarakhand; Shirdi in Maharashtra; and Mohali in Punjab.

Commenting on the development, Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels Limited, said the milestone reflects the steady expansion of the Welcomhotel brand across both business and leisure destinations in varied locations across the country. He added that the company will continue to focus on offering guest experiences aligned with the brand’s positioning as it expands into Shirdi and Bhubaneshwar.
Sanjeev Kumar Patra, Managing Director of Sandy Resorts Private Limited, said the company is entering into management agreements for both properties with ITC Hotels Limited. He noted that the Shirdi and Bhubaneshwar hotels hold significance for the family and expressed a commitment to opening the Shirdi property and repositioning the Bhubaneshwar hotel under the Welcomhotel brand.
