Indonesia Tourism Xchange 2026 to Convene Industry Leaders in Jakarta

Indonesia’s tourism and hospitality sector will launch Indonesia Tourism Xchange 2026 (ITX 2026), a new industry forum that will bring together hotel owners, operators, investors, and senior decision-makers to discuss developments shaping the country’s tourism economy.

The event will take place on 12 May 2026 at The Langham, Jakarta in Jakarta, Indonesia. The programme has been designed to address a range of industry topics, including hotel performance, investment trends, technology adoption, sustainability strategies, and evolving development models across the Indonesian hospitality sector.

Industry Discussions to Focus on Investment, Performance and Luxury Hospitality

The conference will begin with an overview of Indonesia’s tourism outlook and investment environment for 2026. The session will examine the economic factors influencing travel demand, development pipelines, and capital allocation across the country.

Sherona Shng, Regional Vice President Operations Asia at Langham Hospitality Group, will address changes in the luxury hospitality segment. Her session will explore how travellers visiting Indonesia increasingly seek experiences that reflect local culture, personalised service, and a sense of place.

Hotel performance and demand trends will also be central to the programme.

Matt Gebbie, Director – Pacific Asia at Horwath HTL, will present insights into Indonesia’s tourism outlook and the factors influencing hotel performance across resort and urban markets.

The forum will also examine the role of branded residences in hospitality development. A discussion moderated by Bill Barnett, Managing Director of C9 Hotelworks, will explore how residential-led projects are becoming part of resort and lifestyle developments in several Indonesian destinations.

Additional sessions will cover hospitality technology, sustainability initiatives, leadership transitions, and the role of culturally influenced design in hotel development.

ITX 2026 is organised by Horwath HTL, C9 Hotelworks, STR, QUO Global, Greenview, and Delivering Asia, in partnership with Langham Hospitality Group. Industry associations supporting the event include the Jakarta Hotels Association, PHRI Indonesia and the Bali Hotels Association.

Attendance at the forum is complimentary, although advance registration is required. The event aims to provide industry participants with insights into investment, development, and operational strategies across Indonesia’s tourism market.
