IndiGo’s Durgapur Expansion: Four Fresh Routes Revealed

IndiGo is expanding its operations by introducing new flight routes from Durgapur to Bhubaneswar, Bagdogra, and Guwahati starting on August 30, 2024. Previously, Durgapur was directly connected to major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Adding flights to Bhubaneswar, Bagdogra, and Guwahati increases IndiGo’s weekly flights from Durgapur to 42. This expansion will significantly boost economic activity and promote travel and tourism in Eastern India.

Historically, the journey from Durgapur to Bhubaneswar, Bagdogra, and Guwahati could take up to 10, 11, and 21 hours, respectively, primarily through ground transport. With the introduction of IndiGo’s direct flights, travel time will be reduced to under two hours for each route. IndiGo stands out as the sole airline offering direct flights to all three cities from Durgapur, underscoring its dedication to improving accessibility and expanding its network within the country.
