IndiGo Airlines Appoints New Chief Strategy Officer

APPOINTMENT

InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) has announced the appointment of Aloke Singh as the new Chief Strategy Officer, strengthening its leadership as the airline focuses on long-term growth and transformation.

This is one of the first senior leadership appointments following the exit of former CEO Pieter Elbers, and reflects the airline’s intent to strengthen its strategic leadership as it expands its global ambitions.

In his new role, Aloke Singh will lead the company’s long-term strategic planning function and drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. His mandate includes enhancing operational efficiency, accelerating growth, and strengthening IndiGo’s competitive positioning in an evolving aviation landscape.

Aloke will also work closely with the leadership team on cross-functional priorities such as improving customer experience, increasing organisational agility, and delivering sustainable value.

Aloke brings over three decades of experience in the aviation sector, with expertise spanning strategy, operations, planning, and commercial functions. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Air India Express, where he led operational improvements and network expansion.

Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Air India and Oman Air, building a strong understanding of both domestic and international aviation markets.

 

“Singh will lead the company’s long-term strategic planning function and drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on accelerating growth, enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening competitive positioning in a rapidly evolving global aviation landscape.

“He will partner closely with the leadership team on cross-functional priorities designed to improve agility, elevate customer experience and deliver sustainable shareholder value,” IndiGo said in a statement.

Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director, IndiGo, said, “Aloke brings an exceptional blend of strategic vision and operational depth. For now, Aloke will report to me. Once the next CEO assumes office, he will transition to reporting to the new Chief Executive.”
