India International Travel Mart Opens in Ahmedabad

Travel trade event brings together global and domestic stakeholders

The India International Travel Mart (IITM) has opened in Ahmedabad at the YMCA International Convention Centre, bringing together participants from the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors. The two-day B2B exhibition, taking place from 20 to 21 March 2026, provides a platform for tourism boards, travel companies, hotels, and service providers to connect with travel trade professionals from Gujarat and nearby regions.

The event is organized by Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd and features more than 100 exhibitors representing over 10 countries and 15 Indian states. Participants include tourism boards, destination management companies, airlines, hotels, and travel service providers showcasing their offerings to agents, tour operators, and corporate travel planners.

Focus on partnerships and market connections

This year’s edition highlights Tourism Malaysia as the Partner Country and presents a range of travel options, including leisure, culture, and adventure experiences. The participation reflects ongoing tourism engagement between India and Malaysia and aims to strengthen outbound travel connections.

The exhibition is designed to facilitate business interactions through meetings, product presentations, and networking opportunities. It also provides insights into travel trends such as experiential tourism, MICE travel, wellness, and adventure tourism, which continue to see growing interest among Indian travellers.

Industry participation and regional focus

The inauguration was attended by representatives from industry bodies, including TAAI, TAFI, IATO, and regional travel associations. The event is expected to attract a wide range of travel professionals from Ahmedabad and surrounding markets, supporting business development and collaboration.

According to the organisers, hosting IITM in Ahmedabad reflects the growing importance of Gujarat as a source market for travel and tourism. The platform aims to connect global tourism stakeholders with regional buyers and partners.

Delhi Tourism highlights heritage and experiential travel

At the event, Delhi Tourism is promoting a series of heritage walks to encourage cultural engagement and extend visitor stays in the capital. These include guided experiences across areas such as Connaught Place, Old Delhi, Qutub Minar, Hauz Khas, and the National War Memorial.

Many of these walks are scheduled during late afternoons and evenings to support night tourism and provide varied experiences for domestic and international visitors.

Through initiatives like IITM, the travel industry continues to create opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and business growth across markets.
