IHG to Open First Kimpton Hotel in Marrakech

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a franchise agreement with Sirayane Hospitality to develop Kimpton Marrakech, a 67-key luxury lifestyle hotel scheduled to open in Q4 2026. The signing marks the debut of the Kimpton brand in Morocco and adds to IHG’s growing luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the country.

Founded in 1981, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has built an international presence across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, with a focus on design-led hotels and lifestyle-driven guest experiences. The brand’s entry into Marrakech reflects the city’s continued appeal to international travellers and the demand for boutique hospitality offerings.

Kimpton Marrakech will be located approximately seven kilometres from Marrakesh–Menara Airport and around a 20-minute drive south of the Medina and Hivernage district. Set against views of the Atlas Mountains, the area is developing as a leisure-focused enclave, supported by golf courses and low-density resort-style developments.

The hotel will feature 67 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge, spa and fitness facilities, swimming pools, and a rooftop restaurant and bar. The property is intended to serve both international visitors and local residents, aligning with Kimpton’s social and community-oriented positioning.

Mehdi Bennani Smires, Owner and CEO of Sirayane Hospitality, added that the project aims to introduce a new lifestyle-led hotel offering to Marrakech’s hospitality landscape.

Marrakech remains Morocco’s leading tourism destination, accounting for a significant share of the country’s visitor arrivals. Known for its historic medina, cultural landmarks, and proximity to the Atlas Mountains, the city continues to attract sustained international interest.

With Kimpton Marrakech, IHG continues to strengthen its development pipeline in Morocco across luxury, lifestyle, and premium segments, supporting the country’s long-term tourism growth plans.
