IHG Hotels & Resorts marks one million meals with OzHarvest
IHG Hotels & Resorts partnership with OzHarvest supports community meals
IHG Hotels & Resorts and OzHarvest have reached a milestone of more than one million meals delivered across Australia through their ongoing partnership. The initiative focuses on reducing food waste while supporting communities experiencing food insecurity.
Matt Tripolone, Managing Director, Australasia & Pacific at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the milestone reflects the combined efforts of hotel teams, partners and employees across the country. He noted that the collaboration continues to address community needs while managing food surplus in a practical way.
Ronni Kahn AO, Founder of OzHarvest, said the partnership demonstrates how collaboration can contribute to addressing food insecurity, with support from hospitality teams helping redistribute food to those in need.
IHG has partnered with OzHarvest since 2018, supporting a range of initiatives including fundraising, volunteering and food rescue programmes. Campaigns such as Stay for Good involve participating hotels contributing a portion from each room night, while additional activities include the Winter Soup Challenge and community drives for essential goods.
The partnership also supports OzHarvest’s Nourish programme, which provides training and employment pathways for young people facing barriers to education and work. Participants gain experience within IHG hotels through mentoring and practical exposure to hospitality operations.

The initiative forms part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Journey to Tomorrow plan, which includes a target to improve the lives of 30 million people by 2030. Through local partnerships, the company aims to address immediate community needs alongside longer-term development opportunities.
IHG has also extended similar food rescue initiatives to other markets, including Vietnam and Japan, as part of its broader regional engagement. The Stay for Good campaign is set to return in September, continuing efforts to support communities across Australia.
