IHG Expands Saudi Arabia Portfolio with Six Luxury & Lifestyle Brands

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to introduce all six of its Luxury & Lifestyle brands to Saudi Arabia by 2028. With several hotels already operating and others under development, the move supports the Kingdom’s tourism plans under Vision 2030 and further strengthens IHG’s presence in the market.

IHG entered Saudi Arabia in 1975 with the opening of InterContinental Riyadh. Over the past five decades, the company has expanded its presence in the country and now operates 48 hotels, with another 62 properties in the development pipeline.

As Saudi Arabia continues to develop its tourism sector and work towards attracting 150 million visitors by 2030, IHG is expanding its portfolio across the Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials and Suites segments. This strategy allows the company to cater to business, leisure, religious and domestic travellers while providing hotel owners with access to recognised brands, commercial platforms and operational support.

Luxury & Lifestyle hotels are expected to play a key role in this expansion. By 2028, Saudi Arabia is set to become home to all six of IHG’s brands in this segment, reflecting growing demand for design-focused and locally connected hospitality experiences.

IHG’s future openings in Saudi Arabia include Six Senses Amaala in 2026, Six Senses AlUla in 2027, Regent Jeddah Corniche in 2027 and Hotel Indigo & Residences Al Khobar in 2028. These projects follow the opening of Six Senses Southern Dunes at The Red Sea in December 2023.

The company also established a dedicated Riyadh office in 2023 to strengthen relationships with owners, support hotel performance, and work closely with public and private-sector partners.

With all six Luxury & Lifestyle brands expected to operate in Saudi Arabia by 2028, the company continues to expand its presence as the Kingdom develops its hospitality and tourism sector.
