IHG and SEDCO Capital Sign Agreement to Launch Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with an investment fund managed by SEDCO Capital to introduce Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah. The 150-key lifestyle hotel marks the first collaboration between IHG and the Saudi real estate investment fund.
Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah will be a central part of the Grand Square mixed-use development on King Abdulaziz Road. The project is being developed through a partnership that includes Ajdan Real Estate Development Company, MASIC Investment Company, and SEDCO Capital. The development aims to introduce a contemporary mixed-use model to Jeddah by integrating hospitality, retail, and office spaces into a single destination.
Positioned as a lifestyle property, Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah will reflect the brand’s neighbourhood-driven design approach, offering an experience shaped by the culture and character of its surroundings. The hotel will feature thoughtfully designed rooms, amenities, and spaces that blend creativity, comfort, and local influence.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts, India, Middle East & Africa, said: “Lifestyle travel continues to gain interest in the Kingdom, and we are pleased to introduce another Hotel Indigo property in Jeddah. This signing supports our presence in the city and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism and hospitality objectives.”
He added: “Hotel Indigo is built on the idea of local immersion, which aligns well with a destination like Jeddah, where culture and creativity come together. We look forward to developing this property as part of the neighbourhood and creating a destination for travellers, residents, and professionals.”
Mr. Abdulwahhab Abed, Chief Executive Officer of SEDCO Capital, commented: “This agreement reflects SEDCO Capital’s focus on creating real estate assets that contribute to urban and economic development. Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah is a key element of the Grand Square project, designed to serve the community and add value to the real estate sector. Through our partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts, we aim to enhance the hospitality offering within the development and support Jeddah’s position as an urban and tourism hub, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.”
IHG currently operates 46 hotels across six brands in Saudi Arabia, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, voco, and Hotel Indigo, with 60 additional hotels in the development pipeline set to open over the next three to five years.
