Ayodhyām Ayodhya Brings Cultural and Spiritual Experiences to Guests

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the opening of Ayodhyām, Ayodhya – IHCL SeleQtions, expanding its presence in one of India’s most significant spiritual destinations.

The opening comes amid continued growth in spiritual tourism across the country, with Ayodhya attracting increasing numbers of domestic and international visitors seeking cultural, religious and heritage experiences.

Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – New Businesses & Hotel Openings at IHCL, said Ayodhya continues to witness rising demand from travellers and pilgrims, creating opportunities for hospitality offerings that reflect the city’s cultural and spiritual identity.

The 162-room Ayodhyām, Ayodhya – IHCL SeleQtions has been designed to draw inspiration from the city’s heritage while offering contemporary hospitality. The property features spacious interiors, natural lighting and design elements influenced by local traditions.

Guests can dine at Divyam, the hotel’s signature restaurant, which offers a menu inspired by regional culinary traditions and local ingredients. The hotel also features a fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool, and event spaces suitable for weddings, conferences, and social gatherings.

Shilpa Shorewala, owner of the property, said the partnership with IHCL aims to create a hospitality experience that reflects the spiritual character of Ayodhya while catering to modern travellers.

Brij Rajpali, General Manager of Ayodhyām, Ayodhya – IHCL SeleQtions, said the hotel has been designed to provide a calm, immersive environment that remains connected to the destination’s cultural roots.

Beyond accommodation, the hotel offers a range of curated experiences designed around Ayodhya’s traditions and heritage. These include morning aarti ceremonies, storytelling sessions led by kathavachaks, sattvic dining experiences and guided spiritual trails featuring visits to key landmarks, including the banks of the Sarayu River.

The opening further strengthens IHCL’s portfolio across India as the company continues to expand in destinations driven by cultural, religious and experiential tourism.
