Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the opening of Avantika by the Ganges – IHCL SeleQtions, strengthening its presence in one of India’s most culturally and spiritually significant cities.

Ms. Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – New Businesses & Hotel Openings, IHCL, said that Varanasi continues to attract travellers drawn by its spiritual and cultural importance. She added that Avantika by the Ganges expands IHCL’s portfolio in the city, offering an experience that blends local traditions with modern comforts.

Located along the banks of the Ganges, the 43-key property is situated close to key spiritual landmarks, including Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Kaal Bhairav Temple. The hotel’s rooms and suites are designed around the five elements, with interiors that balance spiritual themes with contemporary aesthetics. Several accommodations offer river views.

The hotel’s all-vegetarian restaurant, Dhanushkoti, draws inspiration from traditional Varanasi kitchens and features menus developed with locally sourced ingredients. Additional facilities include a fitness centre, spa, and salon, designed to support a holistic guest experience.
