Indian Hotels Company Limited has announced the signing of a Gateway resort in Bharatpur. The project will be developed as a brownfield property.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, said growing demand for short holidays and weekend travel is contributing to increased interest in leisure destinations with good road connectivity. She added that Bharatpur’s location and its association with bird tourism, weddings and meetings are supporting travel demand in the region.
Located on the Jaipur–Agra highway, the 105-key Gateway Bharatpur, Rajasthan, will include an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant and a bar. The hotel will also feature a swimming pool, fitness centre and event facilities.
The meetings and events infrastructure will include a banquet hall spread across more than 4,000 square feet, along with pre-function spaces and meeting rooms designed for weddings and corporate gatherings.
Yadur Kapur said the partnership with IHCL is expected to support Bharatpur’s position as a leisure and short-stay destination.
Bharatpur, situated in eastern Rajasthan, is known for Keoladeo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognised for its bird sanctuary and wetland ecosystem.
With the addition of this property, IHCL’s portfolio in Rajasthan will increase to 67 hotels, including properties currently under development.
