Emirates Expands SailGP Partnership at Portsmouth Event

Emirates has renewed its partnership with SailGP for the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix Portsmouth, which will take place on 25–26 July on England’s south coast.

The airline will serve as the Title Partner of the Portsmouth event, Global Partner and Exclusive Airline Partner of SailGP, as well as the Naming Partner of the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team.

During the two-day event, Emirates will offer a range of fan activities, including premium hospitality, guided tours of the SailGP Tech Base and prize giveaways. Emirates cabin crew will also welcome visitors with branded seat cushions, Polaroid photo opportunities and airline merchandise.

The event will feature competitive sailing alongside live entertainment. Jess Glynne will perform on Saturday, while Craig David presents TS5, which will take to the stage on Sunday.

Emirates has supported sailing since 2004, when it became the naming sponsor of Emirates Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup. The partnership continues through SailGP, with the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team competing throughout the global racing calendar.

The airline has a long association with Portsmouth, having been the naming sponsor of the Spinnaker Tower between 2015 and 2020. Emirates also supported the America’s Cup World Series events held in Portsmouth in 2015 and 2016 and was later announced as the presenting partner for the 2020 event.

In the UK, Emirates also partners with several sporting organisations and events, including Arsenal FC, the Emirates FA Cup, Lancashire Cricket Club, Emirates Old Trafford, The Championships, Wimbledon, the Investec Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup.
