Commenting on the opening, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO, IHCL, said the launch aligns with the company’s strategy to grow across the Indian subcontinent. He added that the opening further strengthens IHCL’s partnership with CG Hospitality Global, which has a presence across the Middle East, the Greater Himalayan region, and the Indian Ocean.

Located in Paro Valley, close to the Tiger’s Nest monastery, the 45-key Taj Paro Resort & Spa offers mountain-facing rooms overlooking the surrounding Himalayan landscape. The resort features the Paro Lounge & Bar, serving cocktails and Bhutanese wines, and Vista, an all-day dining restaurant offering regional and international cuisine with views of the monastery. Additional facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, the J Wellness Circle spa, and a fitness centre.

Binod Chaudhary, Chairman of CG Corp Global, said the opening reflects the continued collaboration between CG Hospitality and IHCL, which has developed steadily over the past 25 years.

Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director and CEO of CG Hospitality Global, noted that the launch of the Taj brand in Paro strengthens Bhutan’s position as an international tourism destination.

With this opening, IHCL now has a presence in Thimphu and Paro, with plans to open a property in Phobjika. The partnership between IHCL and CG Hospitality Global currently includes hotels across the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, such as Taj Exotica Resort & Spa and Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa in the Maldives, Taj Samudra in Colombo, Taj Jumeirah Lakes Towers in Dubai, two Vivanta hotels in Nepal, and Taj Safaris lodges in India and Nepal.
