Hunter Valley Retreat Laval Scheduled to Open in 2027
Laval Project to Add New Tourism and Wellness Experience in Hunter Valley
A new hospitality project is set to take shape in Australia’s Hunter Valley, with Laval scheduled to open in the second half of 2027. The 65-room retreat will be located within the historic Ben Ean Estate in Pokolbin and aims to combine accommodation, wellness, dining, and event experiences into a single destination.
Spread across approximately 165 acres of vineyard land and countryside, the development will overlook the Brokenback Range and place guests close to the wider Hunter Valley wine region. The project is expected to add a new accommodation option to a destination already known for wineries, rural escapes, and food tourism.
Plans for Laval include a thermal spa, wellness facilities, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, a poolside bar, and an event venue designed for private functions, weddings, and corporate gatherings. The development reflects the growing demand for travel experiences focused on wellbeing, food, and longer leisure stays.
The hospitality group appointed to manage the property will oversee hotel operations, guest services, food and beverage offerings, wellness programmes, and sales and marketing activities once the retreat opens.
Hunter Valley continues to expand beyond traditional wine tourism, with increasing interest in wellness travel, boutique stays, and outdoor experiences. Laval is expected to contribute to the region’s tourism infrastructure while creating employment opportunities across hospitality, culinary services, wellness, and events.
