This month marks the 15th anniversary of the IHG Army Hotels military housing program, which is being celebrated by IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG). IHG Army Hotels was established under the U.S. Army's Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) Program, and since then, it has grown and provided military visitors, veterans, and their families with True Hospitality for Good by offering on-post lodging under the recognizable and reliable Holiday Inn Express, Candlewood Suites, and Staybridge Suites brands.

Chuck Sourbeer, Vice President of Hotel Operations at IHG Army Hotels, said, "It’s incredible to see the evolution of our first-of-its-kind military lodging program and our team’s dedication to its success. The program is a testament to our commitment to serving those who serve, with quality accommodations that reflect the high standards our guests expect from IHG brands. We’re proud of our impact on our guests and communities and the relationship we’ve built with the Army, and we look forward to the future of our hospitality journey.”

A Legacy of Commitment

IHG Army Hotels has offered over 40 million hotel nights over the previous 15 years, ensuring visitors have a warm and inviting stay at any of its 40 on-post facilities in the United States and Puerto Rico. The capital returned to the hotels—$43 for every $100—reflects this quality, with the money going toward improving the amenities and services provided.

The program's success is attributed to its unusual blend of well-known hotel amenities and a thorough comprehension of the particular requirements of military travellers and their partners. IHG Army Hotels often serve as a guest's initial introduction to a new post or area. Benefits like free breakfast, weekly socials, and pet-friendly lodging have been shown to ease transitions. Along with veterans, wives of service members and former U.S. Army Lodging employees make up a big portion of the hotel crew, providing experience with the military way of life.

In addition to offering better rooms and amenities, IHG Army Hotels guarantees that military guests will have a positive experience. Visitors earn IHG One Reward points for subsequent stays at any IHG hotel worldwide; 6.8 billion points have already been given to members who have been at IHG Army Hotels.

Continued Community Outreach and Support

IHG Army Hotels has always supported the military community by donating time and resources to various worthwhile projects. Each year, the group donates over $300,000 to sponsorships and community initiatives, like the U.S. Army Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program. They also raise funds for their charitable partners, which include the Fisher House Network, which offers support and comfort to military families, and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a non-profit that honours the sacrifice made by first responders during the 9/11 attacks.

Additionally, IHG Army Hotels welcomes and supports the upcoming generation of military hospitality leaders with its Teen Academy, a summer internship program that gives hotel workers' children actual work experience and hands-on training.

What’s Next?

To satisfy the needs of modern hospitality, IHG Army Hotels is dedicated to expansion and modernization, concentrating on new property constructions, conversions, and renovations. Among them are the recently finished upscaling of the Holiday Inn Express Magnolia House & Cypress Inn on Louisiana's Fort Johnson (formerly Fort Polk), which became the first branded IHG Army Hotels property upon its opening in 2010, and the conversion of a historic hotel within New Mexico's prestigious White Sands Missile Range to the Historia Collection brand (a collection of on-post historic buildings converted into hotels and chosen for their significance to the Army, post or nation).
