Hyatt Set To Expand Brand Presence In Nepal With Hyatt Regency Lumbini

Hyatt Hotels Corporation recently announced that one of its affiliates has signed a management agreement with Veda Hospitality Private Limited, a part of the Golyan Group, to manage Hyatt Regency Lumbini. This will be the fourth Hyatt-branded hotel in Nepal, underscoring the significance of this market in Hyatt's growth plans for Southwest Asia.

Lumbini, revered as the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is a serene and spiritually significant town that attracts tourists from around the world. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Lumbini features expansive gardens filled with historical treasures, including the Ashoka Pillar, as well as various monasteries and international temples that reflect diverse Buddhist traditions. This rich cultural landscape fosters a valuable exchange among visitors from different backgrounds.

Situated along the picturesque banks of the Dano River, the property will be conveniently located just a short drive away from the popular pilgrimage site Mayadevi Temple and other major attractions. It will also be in close proximity to Gautam Buddha International Airport, the city of Butwal, and the Nepal–India border, ensuring easy access for both global business and leisure travellers. The Hyatt Regency Lumbini is expected to open by 2028.

Spanning 11 acres, the hotel will feature 175 guest rooms, various dining options, and spaces for events and meetings. Additionally, guests will enjoy a variety of amenities, including a fitness centre, wellness spa, outdoor pool, and other entertainment facilities, all thoughtfully designed to reflect the region’s cultural heritage.

Hyatt currently has a portfolio of 52 properties in India and Southwest Asia, with 50 located in India and two in Nepal. These properties span nine brands, which include Andaz, Alila, Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Place, Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, and JdV by Hyatt.
