Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu Opens as the Brand’s First Property in Southwest China

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu, marking the debut of the Hyatt Centric brand in Southwest China. Located in Chengdu’s Panchenggang district, the hotel is positioned where historic neighbourhoods meet contemporary urban development, offering guests an experience rooted in local culture and city life.

The hotel connects directly to The Ring lifestyle mall, providing access to dining, shopping and entertainment. Its location, 50 meters from Dongda Road Metro Station and two metro stops from Chengdu East Railway Station, puts guests within easy reach of key attractions, including Taikoo Li, Tianfu Square, and the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

Leow Clavin, General Manager of Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu, said: “We look forward to welcoming guests and local residents to Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu, an experience shaped by the culture and rhythm of the city. With skyline-view rooms, dining options and spaces designed for connection, the hotel serves as a starting point for those wishing to explore Chengdu.”

Design Inspired by Local Heritage

Designed by Cheng Chung Design, the hotel’s aesthetic draws on the industrial history and community roots of the Panchenggang district. Once home to a central steel factory and its surrounding residential community, the area has transitioned into a mix of traditional and modern Chengdu. Interior spaces reference former factory clubs and public gathering areas, with artwork and materials reflecting the district’s evolution and cultural identity.

Guestrooms and Suites

The hotel features 258 guestrooms and suites located from the 36th floor upward, each offering city views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Rooms incorporate contemporary comfort with subtle nods to the district’s heritage, including metal and leather textures, vintage-inspired décor and locally influenced art pieces.

All accommodations include walk-in showers, smart TVs, capsule coffee machines and a pillow menu. Suites offer additional living space and deep soaking bathtubs, while select dog-friendly rooms include pet amenities and private balconies.

Dining and Social Spaces

Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu offers three dining and bar venues:

  • Cafe 249 – An all-day dining venue with an open layout and terrace, serving Sichuan-inspired dishes, local breakfast items, snacks and Cantonese dim sum.

  • Colour Palette – The adjoining bar offering afternoon tea and beverages, including Sichuan-influenced cocktails.

  • Dongda 333 – A Chinese restaurant with three private dining rooms and city views, suited for business gatherings, family meals or celebrations.

Fitness Facilities

A 24-hour fitness centre on the 36th floor provides cardio and strength equipment along with panoramic views of Chengdu.

Meetings & Events

The hotel includes five function rooms ranging from 56 to 268 square meters, suitable for meetings, workshops and training sessions. A 188-square-meter outdoor terrace provides an additional space for private events and intimate weddings.
