TAT Previews Blue Jasmine Rail Experience Ahead of November Launch

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently completed a technical familiarisation trip for its overseas marketing teams, offering an early look at the upcoming Blue Jasmine Luxury Rail Journey. Held from July 22 to 24, 2025, the trip brought together 39 representatives from TAT’s Europe and Americas offices following its Annual Plan Meeting in Bangkok.

The journey was led by Mrs. Chiravadee Khunsub, Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas, along with Mrs. Malinee Nitikasetsunthorn, Executive Director for the Americas, Middle East, and Africa Region, and Ms. Suladda Sarutilavan, Executive Director for the Europe Region. The team was hosted by DTH Travel, including CEO Mr. Stephan Roemer and Mr. Stefan Bruns, General Manager of DTH Travel Thailand.

According to Mrs. Chiravadee, the three-day journey provided product exposure and strategic exchange, giving participants an in-depth look at a new rail offering aimed at supporting high-value tourism. The programme also facilitated engagement with local operators and insights to refine tourism strategies for long-haul markets.
“This initiative is in line with TAT’s The New Thailand strategy, which aims to promote meaningful travel experiences and develop offerings that reflect both Thailand’s heritage and evolving appeal,” she said.

The route previewed — The Blue Jasmine: A Timeless Rail Journey Through Thailand — highlighted three UNESCO-listed cities: Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, and Si Satchanalai in Sukhothai. Participants experienced cultural activities that reflected the country’s history and living traditions.

Departing from Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong Station, the group travelled aboard the refurbished Blue Jasmine train, featuring private cabins, panoramic lounges, and cuisine inspired by local flavours. Activities along the route included almsgiving by the Sakae Krang River, visits to Wat Chantharam and the Crystal Sanctuary, and a traditional dance performance near the Yom River. Guests also participated in hands-on sessions for Sangkhalok ceramic making and Thai silk weaving.

The trip served as a preview for the Blue Jasmine Rail Journey’s inaugural run, scheduled from 16 to 24 November 2025. Developed by DTH Travel, the nine-day itinerary will connect Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, Sukhothai, and Chiang Mai via a restored 1956 Japanese sleeper train. Additional departures are planned in January, February, March, July, November, and December 2026.
