Etihad Airways Expands Kabul Flights to Daily Service
Etihad Flights Increase Connectivity Between Abu Dhabi and Kabul
Etihad Airways will increase its service between Abu Dhabi and Kabul to daily flights from 1 May 2026, following demand for the route launched earlier this year.
The service began on 20 March 2026 with four weekly flights and has seen steady demand from both point-to-point travellers and those connecting through Etihad’s wider network. The route provides a direct link between Afghanistan and the UAE and supports onward travel.
Flights are operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, configured with eight Business and 150 Economy seats. The move to daily operations is expected to provide more options for travellers and improve connectivity between Kabul, Abu Dhabi and destinations across Etihad’s network.
Passengers travelling via Abu Dhabi can connect onwards through Zayed International Airport to cities including London, Frankfurt, Charlotte, Toronto and Washington.
The UAE is home to a large Afghan community, and the expanded schedule is expected to support travel for families, as well as business and trade links between Afghanistan and the UAE.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said the decision reflects demand for travel between the two markets and forms part of the airline’s broader network planning approach.
The increase in frequency is part of Etihad’s phased network expansion, with capacity adjusted in line with demand across key routes in the Middle East, South Asia and other regions.
