Etihad Airways Marks July Milestone with Five New Aircraft Deliveries
Etihad Airways reached a key milestone in its fleet expansion programme, with July 2025 becoming its busiest month for aircraft deliveries in the airline’s 22-year history. Over the month, Etihad took delivery of five aircraft: its first Airbus A321LR, two Boeing 787 Dreamliners, one Airbus A350-1000, and one Airbus A320.
The deliveries reflect Etihad’s continued progress toward its 2030 goal of carrying 38 million passengers annually. These additions will boost the airline’s capacity across its growing global network.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, stated:

“July has been a significant month for Etihad Airways. Taking delivery of five aircraft marks our most active delivery period so far and reflects the direction of our growth strategy. These aircraft will support our efforts to serve more destinations, increase flight frequencies, and enhance the travel experience for our guests.”
Each aircraft type has been selected to serve specific operational needs. The Boeing 787 Dreamliners are intended for long-haul routes across Asia, Australia, and North America, while the Airbus A350-1000 will be deployed on high-demand routes to increase capacity.
A notable addition this month was Etihad’s first Airbus A321LR. This narrowbody aircraft introduces a new cabin configuration featuring dedicated First Suites, lie-flat Business seats, and enhanced Economy seating with individual seatback screens. This upgrade brings a more consistent premium experience to shorter and medium-haul routes.
With the latest additions, Etihad’s fleet now comprises 106 aircraft, maintaining one of the youngest average fleet ages in the industry at 8.7 years. The new aircraft supports operational efficiency and service consistency.

The expanded fleet aligns with Etihad’s recent network growth, which includes 27 new destinations and increased frequencies on several existing routes. Over the past 12 months, Etihad carried more than 20 million passengers—double the number from 2022.
Looking ahead, Etihad plans to take delivery of approximately 20 aircraft annually through 2025 and 2026 as part of its ongoing fleet development strategy. This growth supports Abu Dhabi’s positioning as a key global aviation hub and aims to offer greater connectivity and comfort to travellers worldwide.
