EkoStay Launches ‘Ekostay Stories’ Podcast on Villa and Homestay Hospitality
EkoStay, a professionally managed vacation rental brand in India, has announced the launch of Ekostay Stories, an in-house podcast series focused on the realities of the villa and homestay ecosystem.
Positioned as both a storytelling platform and an industry conversation, Ekostay Stories looks beyond curated travel content to highlight what happens behind the scenes of a stay. The podcast brings together perspectives from across the ecosystem, including co-founders, guests, homeowners, vendors, and internal teams, covering topics such as guest behaviour, homeowner coordination, operational challenges, unexpected situations, and day-to-day problem-solving.
A Behind-the-Scenes View of Villa Operations
The podcast aims to capture situations that are often missing from standard hospitality content. From last-minute changes and on-ground coordination to communication gaps and service recovery, Ekostay Stories focuses on the operational side of villa stays and homestays.
The series also aligns with a broader shift in travel and brand content, where audiences are engaging more with long-form, narrative-led formats that explain how businesses function beyond the final guest experience.
Why EkoStay Created the Podcast
Explaining the idea behind the podcast, Varun Arora, CEO & Co-Founder, EkoStay, said the concept emerged from a gap in how the homestay industry communicates.
“Guests are already speaking online about their experiences, usually when something goes wrong. But what no one really talks about is everything that happens behind the scenes—the coordination, the people management, the homeowner conversations, the pressure points. Ekostay Stories is our way of opening that door and showing the industry as it truly operates,” he said.
He added that managing vacation homes involves multiple stakeholders and moving parts—from preparing a property for guests to aligning expectations across homeowners, teams, vendors, competitors, and local authorities.
“It’s not always pretty or simple. There’s a lot that goes on backstage, and we felt it was time someone spoke about it honestly—from a founder’s perspective, a management perspective, and an industry perspective,” he added.
A Candid Format Built Around Real Incidents

Ekostay Stories is designed as a candid, conversation-led format that shares stories, guest confessions, and operational moments ranging from light-hearted to challenging.
Early episode titles such as “Gayi Bhais Pool Mai” and “Signed & Shattered” reflect the tone of the series, focusing on real experiences shared by people involved in villa hospitality.
