Dibba Yana Chitta Museum Opens at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort
Anantara Chiang Mai Resort has announced the official opening of the Dibba Yana Chitta Museum, one year after the unveiling of Dibba Yana Chitta, a vessel created by Thailand’s National Artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, known for Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple of Chiang Rai.
The museum features nine detailed scale models of Dibba Yana Chitta and highlights the collaboration between Chalermchai Kositpipat and Charoen Maboot, a bronze-casting artisan from Phayao province. The exhibit aims to showcase Thai artistic heritage and preserve the vessel’s design for future generations.
To mark the occasion, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort has introduced the Dibba Yana Chitta Collector’s Edition — a limited series of 19 handcrafted models available to collectors.
Dibba Yana Chitta is one of three vessels in the resort’s JAO Ping River Cruise fleet, offering journeys along the Mae Ping River. Experiences include the Morning Voyage to Wat Ket Karam, the Afternoon Tea Cruise, the Sunset Cruise, and the Dibba Yana Chitta Dinner Cruise, featuring live music, classical dance, and dining.
The dinner cruise now features a new menu by Chef Boy Piyachart Phuttawong of Saneh Jaan, Bangkok, inspired by recipes from the early Rattanakosin period and adapted to local Chiang Mai flavours. The menu is available throughout the festive season.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr Rattaphol Naradisorn, Governor of Chiang Mai, and Chalermchai Kositpipat, who shared insights into the artistic philosophy and creative process behind Dibba Yana Chitta.
The Dibba Yana Chitta Museum is open daily by reservation from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Visitors can explore the exhibition, purchase memorabilia, or reserve a Collector’s Edition model.
