Cloudbeds showcased how its Open API platform is helping hospitality businesses streamline operations and reduce technology fragmentation during a presentation with Vacatia at HITEC 2026. The session highlighted how flexible integrations can support complex hospitality businesses while preparing them for future AI-driven innovation.

Vacatia, which manages nearly 60 independent resorts across the United States and the Caribbean, uses the Cloudbeds Open API to connect its proprietary vacation ownership technology with Cloudbeds’ unified hospitality platform. The company manages more than 11,000 units and serves nearly 500,000 owners.

Cloudbeds Open API Supports Complex Hospitality Operations

Vacatia operates a hybrid business model that combines vacation ownership, hotel operations, OTA distribution, owner services and corporate reporting. As the business expanded, legacy technology struggled to support operational flexibility and inventory management.

By integrating its proprietary systems with Cloudbeds through the Open API, Vacatia has been able to protect owner inventory while distributing unused inventory through online travel agencies. The platform also supports customised reporting, streamlined onboarding and centralised hotel operations.

Creating a Foundation for AI Innovation

The Company said the partnership demonstrates how modern hospitality platforms can combine standardisation with the flexibility needed by complex operators. The integrated system also creates cleaner data and connected workflows that can support future AI applications, including guest communications, digital check-in, revenue optimisation and automated guest sentiment analysis.

“Vacatia’s business does not fit neatly into traditional hotel technology categories. We needed a platform that could support hotel operations at scale while giving us the freedom to build around the realities of vacation ownership,” said Kris Wallsmith, VP of Engineering at Vacatia. “With Cloudbeds, we found a partner willing to understand that complexity and support the architecture we needed to operate more efficiently today and keep building for what comes next.”

Driving Operational Efficiency Across Hospitality

Cloudbeds’ Open API enables customers and more than 600 technology partners within the The Company’s marketplace to build secure integrations with external systems. The platform offers public documentation, transparent rate limits, high reliability and scalable performance, helping hospitality businesses simplify operations while supporting long-term growth.
