Choice Hotels International Introduces Redesigned Everhome Suites Prototype
Choice Hotels International has announced the introduction of a redesigned prototype for its Everhome Suites brand, supporting its continued focus on the midscale extended-stay segment. The new prototype reflects an updated approach to hotel development that responds to current market conditions, construction economics, and evolving guest needs.
The next-generation Everhome Suites prototype was developed in collaboration with developers, operators, contractors, architects, and suppliers. It builds on Choice Hotels’ investment-led development strategy while incorporating practical insights from industry partners to improve efficiency and project viability.

According to Matt McElhare, Vice President and Extended Stay Segment Lead at Choice Hotels International, extended stay remains an important part of the company’s growth plans. He noted that the redesigned prototype is intended to help owners manage development costs while delivering a consistent extended-stay experience aligned with guest expectations.
The updated Everhome Suites prototype is structured around three key priorities:
Lower development costs: Refined layouts and material efficiencies are designed to reduce average construction costs per room by approximately 13% compared to the previous prototype.
Operational efficiency: Design updates streamline operations and enable lean staffing models, helping owners manage ongoing expenses.
Guest-focused design: Apartment-style suites with full kitchens, flexible workspaces, and contemporary interiors are intended to support productivity and comfort during longer stays.

Ron Burgett, Senior Vice President of Extended Stay Development at Choice Hotels International, said the revised prototype addresses owners’ demand for development models that can adapt to changing market cycles while remaining relevant to extended-stay guests.
The new prototype increases capacity to approximately 120 suites, supporting overall project economics while maintaining Everhome Suites’ midscale positioning. The brand currently has 27 open hotels and approximately 40 properties in its development pipeline.
The prototype was created in partnership with BRR Architecture, the architect of record for Choice Hotels’ extended-stay brands, to ensure the design is scalable and practical across different markets.
Groundbreakings for the first hotels using the redesigned Everhome Suites prototype are expected in the coming months, marking the next phase of the brand’s expansion within Choice Hotels’ extended-stay portfolio.
