China Eastern Expands Zurich Connectivity with Shanghai Route
China Eastern Airlines has launched a new direct service between Shanghai and Zurich, further strengthening air connectivity between Switzerland and Mainland China.
The airline’s first flight arrived at Zurich Airport on 18 June 2026, marking the start of scheduled operations on the route. The new service provides passengers with additional travel options between the two cities for both business and leisure travel.
Three Weekly Flights Between Shanghai and Zurich
China Eastern will operate the route three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Flights depart Zurich at 2:05 p.m. and arrive in Shanghai at 6:40 a.m. the following day. The return service leaves Shanghai at 1:55 a.m. and lands in Zurich at 7:55 a.m.

Strengthening Links Between Switzerland and China
Shanghai is one of China’s leading commercial and industrial centres and remains an important destination for international business and tourism.
The new service expands direct connectivity between Switzerland and Mainland China and complements existing operations on the route. In addition to China Eastern, Swiss International Air Lines also serves the Shanghai–Zurich market.
The launch is expected to support travel demand between Europe and Asia while providing greater flexibility for passengers travelling between the two regions.
