Avani Launches “Travelling Traditions” to Connect Guests with Local Festive Customs

This festive season, Avani Hotels & Resorts invites travellers to explore local customs through “Travelling Traditions,” a series of experiences across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Indian Ocean. Guests are encouraged to engage with the traditions that define each destination, from eating twelve grapes at midnight in Madrid to participating in Boduberu drumming circles on the beaches of the Maldives.

Bangkok, Thailand

At Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok, guests can observe local temple rituals, make offerings, and enjoy festive street markets. Seasonal experiences include the Festive Enchantment Afternoon Tea with desserts, savouries, and a toast to the season.

Khao Lak, Thailand

Avani+ Khao Lak Resort highlights southern Thai customs, including morning food offerings to monks, candlelit beach picnics, and paper lantern releases. Family-friendly activities are available through AvaniKids and Teens Club.

Luang Prabang, Laos

At Avani+ Luang Prabang, guests can observe monks receiving alms, explore night markets with lanterns, handmade crafts, and traditional music, and engage with the town’s community-based festive atmosphere.

Fares, Maldives

Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort offers experiences that reflect the island’s cultural heritage, including drumming circles, local cuisine prepared over coconut husks, artisan workshops, storytelling sessions, and activities for younger guests, such as traditional dhoni boat building at AvaniKids and Teens Club.

Victoria Falls, Zambia

Avani Victoria Falls Resort allows guests to experience local festive celebrations, including choir performances, craft markets, and family gatherings with traditional meals near the Falls.

Madrid, Spain

Avani Alonso Martínez Madrid connects guests with New Year’s Eve traditions at Puerta del Sol, including eating twelve grapes to the clock’s chimes. Guests can also participate in the San Silvestre Vallecana road race and explore local markets with seasonal treats.
