Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas Joins The Leading Hotels of the World

Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas has joined The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW), marking a significant milestone as the first Anantara-branded resort in Asia to be included in the prestigious global portfolio.

Located on Koh Yao Yai, one of Thailand’s relatively untouched islands, the resort reflects Anantara’s approach to experiential luxury, rooted in local culture, nature, and design. Its inclusion strengthens LHW’s footprint in Thailand, where the collection now comprises a limited number of member properties.

Luxury Resort Anantara Koh Yao Yai Joins Global LHW Collection

Established nearly a century ago, LHW curates a portfolio of approximately 400 independent luxury hotels across more than 80 countries, each recognised for its distinctive character and high standards of service.

As one of Anantara’s flagship properties, the resort has received international recognition, including being named among TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2025 and ranking in the Top 15 Resorts in Thailand by Condé Nast Traveler readers.

Set along more than a kilometre of beachfront, the resort offers a range of accommodation options, including suites, pool villas, and penthouses, many with views overlooking Phang Nga Bay. The property also features dedicated wellness villas offering Traditional Thai Medicine programmes, as well as family-oriented facilities such as expansive suites with private pools and one of southern Thailand’s largest children’s clubs.

Experiential offerings are designed to immerse guests in the destination, from guided explorations of local landscapes and artisan communities to excursions to nearby attractions such as Maya Bay and James Bond Island. Guests can also opt for exclusive experiences aboard the resort’s luxury yacht, My SKY.

Wellness programming at the resort integrates traditional practices with contemporary approaches. At its Mindfulness House, guests can participate in guided meditation sessions inspired by Vipassana practices, developed in collaboration with Wat Charoensamanakit, offering an authentic cultural and spiritual experience.

Accessible via a 35-minute speedboat transfer from Phuket or 30 minutes from Krabi, the resort aims to attract international travellers seeking immersive luxury experiences in a serene island setting.

With this addition, Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas further elevates its global positioning while contributing to LHW’s curated collection of distinctive luxury hospitality experiences.
