American Airlines Expands Chicago Operations with 100 Additional Daily Flights This Spring

American Airlines is expanding its operations in Chicago by adding 100 daily departures from O’Hare International Airport (ORD) this spring. The expanded schedule includes additional flights to more than 75 destinations, timed to meet increased demand during the spring travel period. The airline is also extending its summer seasonal services from Chicago to Paris and Dublin.

The updated spring schedule increases American’s total peak operations at ORD to more than 500 daily departures. The added flights strengthen connectivity across domestic and international markets and provide customers with more routing options through Chicago.

The expanded spring service includes increased frequencies to destinations such as Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas–Fort Worth, Fort Myers, and Orlando. American is also increasing flights to leisure destinations, including Las Vegas, Panama City (Florida), Sarasota, Savannah, and San Francisco.

As part of its broader network development, American is extending the seasonal operation of its Chicago–Dublin service by about one month and its Chicago–Paris service by approximately three months. These routes complement the airline’s international network and connections with global partners.

The airline’s recent growth in Chicago follows earlier capacity additions in summer 2025, when American increased flights and seats compared with the previous year and introduced new destinations from ORD, including Honolulu, Mexico City, Madrid, and Naples. Additional capacity was also added to routes serving Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and key domestic business markets.

American’s investment in its Chicago hub also includes operational and customer experience updates, such as changes to boarding procedures, technology upgrades, and facility improvements. The airline has added new gates at ORD, enabling further network growth, and continues to expand premium seating availability across its regional fleet.

Through these network, infrastructure, and service enhancements, American aims to support travel demand, improve connectivity for customers, and reinforce Chicago’s role as a major hub within its network.
